Executive Team

J. David Likens, JD
CEO


J. David Likens has more than 10 years experience working in the field of addiction and recovery. He has a Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern School of Law, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from University of La Verne, and Associate degrees in both Liberal Studies and Addiction Treatment from Mt. San Antonio College. David also has certifications in alcohol drug counseling and studies. He has vast experience in administration, legal; personnel, programmatic, and client care related issues as well as fundraising, public relations and marketing. He has managed, trained and supervised employees as well as designed and implemented new programs, protocol and policies and procedures, most recently at Inland Valley Recovery Services. For several years, he has worked closely with the California court system including parole and probation departments and the Public Defender’s Office.

David is currently the CEO, taking office in January 2008.  He is married, has one daughter and two dogs.


David Leahy
CFO


David has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Business Administration from Rutgers University. His 30 years of diverse experience includes administering large government contracts within a university setting, heading finance & administration departments at a national arts association, a children’s social service agency, a family social service agency, real estate development firm and as a finance executive at a large hotel/condominium resort.


Jim Herndon, PA
Medical Director


Jim is a graduate of the University of Washington’s School of Medicine Physician Assistant program in 2002.  In 2008 Jim became Medical Director of ABC Recovery Center.  His work includes assisting the admissions and medical staff at the Center to ensure quality care for the clients.  His prior experience includes five years on the Medical staff at The Betty Ford Center.

He was published in 2005 in the ASAM Journal of Addictive Diseases, having co-authored an abstract recognizing that Buprenorphine detoxification increases patient retention in treatment.  This protocol has since become a nationally recognized model for opiate detoxification.

Jim has been in recovery for the last 17 years.  He has continued his tireless work with alcoholics and addicts, accessing and treating their medical needs.  Jim has a real passion for his work in the field of addiction medicine.
